(Osaka, Japan)

With a population of around 2.6 million people, Osaka is the region's capital city and stands next to the Yodo River. A city of history and commerce, Osaka has long been one of the most prominent cities of industry in the whole of Japan and is also known for its busy port. With 24 different wards, known locally as 'ku', the city is split into two main areas, the north (Kita) and the south (Minami).

Outside of the city, to the north-west and close to the city of Itami, the Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM) is the area's main domestic airport. Sited in the city of Toyonaka and within Japan's Osaka Prefecture, Itami Airport is linked to the city via the Osaka Monorail, buses and shuttles.
